The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (7-2-1, 4-0-1) moved into a tie for first place in the South Atlantic Conference with a 6-0 shutout victory over Mars Hill (1-7-2, 0-5-1) Wednesday afternoon at

the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex.

L-R sophomore midfielder Emmi Dunn (Reading, Pa.) scored three times, all on penalty kicks, as the Bears rolled to a 5-0 halftime lead en route to the victory.

All of Dunn's goals came in the first half as Lenoir-Rhyne put the contest away before intermission for their fifth straight win.

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore forward Leah Mullins (Kissimmee, Fla.) opened the scoring in the sixth minute after taking advantage of a failed clearance by Mars Hill and registering her fifth goal of the year.

L-R junior defender Kayla Stamey (Hudson, N.C.) gave the Bears a 2-0 advantage at the 10:45 mark of the first half as she headed the ball into the net off a free kick from junior defender Hanna Kiebel (Parker, Colo.).

From there, Dunn reeled off three consecutive penalty kick goals while sophomore defender Amber Madriaga (Wailuku, Hawaii) rounded out the scoring in the second half for the Bears.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior goalkeeper Genny Little (Fredericksburg, Va.) improved to 6-0 on the season after stopping a pair of shots while the Bears held a 24-5 advantage in shots taken as well.

Mars Hill's Maslyn Greene (Dallas, Ga.) suffered the loss in goal despite tallying five saves on the day.

Lenoir-Rhyne remains at home to face Anderson in a South Atlantic Conference match on Saturday beginning at 2:30 p.m. Mars Hill next hosts Coker in a league contest Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
