The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team is ranked No. 23 in the 2013-14 NCAA Division II Bulletin National Preseason Top 25 Poll.

L-R returns four starters from a squad which finished 19-10 last season including a 13-5 mark in the South Atlantic Conference, good for second place.

The Bears also advanced to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament for third time in five years in 2012-13 and put together their seventh consecutive winning season last winter.

Several top returnees for Lenoir-Rhyne this year include junior guard Jazmine Charles (Lexington, N.C.) and sophomore guard Jordan Hiatt (Mount Airy, N.C.).

Charles led the Bears in scoring (11.3 ppg) and three-pointers made (44) en route to All-SAC honors in 2012-13 while Hiatt earned South Atlantic Conference All-Freshman Team accolades.
Hiatt averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per outing last year for L-R.

Lenoir-Rhyne opens the 2013-14 season on Saturday, November 9, against Lees-McRae in the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge in Jefferson, City, Tenn., beginning at 5:00 p.m.
