|WHS Volleyball Wins Third Straight|

It seems like the Watauga High volleyball team is getting hot at the right time. The Pioneers won their third straight game Wednesday night by knocking off Hibriten 3-0 at Lentz-Eggers Gym.
The win also clinched fourth place, and the Pioneers (6-5 Northwestern 3A/4A Conference; 12-6 overall), thanks to a win against South Caldwell on September 18, are currently the No.1 seed among the Class 4A schools in the NW3A/4A Conference. The Pioneers defeated Hibriten, 25-16, 25-14, 25-7.
Savannah Rusher led the way with 21 assists; Rebecca Hayes had 13 kills, two blocks and four aces; Sarah Petersen had 11 kills; Meredith Farthing had eight kills; Sierra Hill had six kills and four blocks; Sydney Farthing had four aces and 11 digs.
WHS won the junior varsity match, 2-0 (25-10, 25-15). Savannah Rusher and Reina Marze each had seven assists; Olivia Williamson and Alexis Villarosa each had three kills and two blocks; Callie Idol and Kinley McCoury each had three kills; Emily Hale had eight aces and three digs.
The Pioneers play a non-conference match at Mountain Heritage today.
