Wood finished in a first-place tie with Carolyn Howes of South Caldwell with a seven-over-par 43. It was Wood's fourth consecutive first-place finish in conference play. She came in leading the field by three shot for the individual title with tw matches left in the regular season.
Wood increased her lead to four shots with Tuesday's effort.
"It is a tough layout, and overall, scores were high today," said WHS coach Jamie Wilson. "Savanna tied for medalist with a 43, and Mary Seramur tied for third with several golfers with a 45."
Seramur had a solid day as she fired a nine-over-par 45, and finished in a four-way tie for third place, just two shots off the lead. Patricia Thompson, who began the day in second place, three shots behind Wood, had a 45 and was involved in that logjam for third place. Thompson has a 120 score through the first five NW3A/4A matches of the season.
