The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (5-2-1) notched a 2-1 victory in double overtime against Belmont Abbey (7-2) as time was running out Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match at Alumni

L-R senior forward Ariel Dominguez (Annapolis, Md.) scored with 13 seconds remaining in the second overtime off a rebound to lift the Bears to the victory. Lenoir-Rhyne has now won three straight matches. The goal was Dominguez's first of the season.

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore midfielder Garcelle Alequine (Wilmington, Del.), the reigning South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player Of The Week, tied the contest at one just before halftime at the 41:16 mark.

Alequine is now tied for the team lead in goals scored with four this season.

Belmont Abbey's Ananda Gebreyesus (Alameda, Calif.) opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a goal but the Crusaders were shut out the rest of the way.

L-R junior goalkeeper Genny Little (Fredericksburg, Va.) improved to 4-0 on the season after stopping five shots. Lenoir-Rhyne also held a 28-11 advantage in shots taken over Belmont Abbey in the victory.

Hannah Kohls (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished with 11 saves on the day but suffered the loss in goal for the Crusaders, who saw their five-match winning streak come to an end.

Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Jefferson City, Tenn., to take on Carson-Newman in a South Atlantic Conference match on Saturday beginning at 5:00 p.m. Belmont Abbey hosts King on Saturday at Noon.
