The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team (6-2, 2-1) came through in overtime to beat Lincoln Memorial (3-4-1, 1-2-1), 2-1, Saturday night at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex in a South Atlantic Conference match. For the second time this year, L-R junior midfielder Daniel Delderfield (Milton Keyes, ENGLAND) scored the match-winning goal in overtime.

Delderfield scored at the 96:50 mark of the first overtime on a pass from sophomore forward Mattias Thompson (Lahaina, Hawaii), who picked up the assist. The match was scoreless until the 85th minute when the two squads scored 22 seconds apart.

L-R got on the board at the 84:04 mark of the second half when freshman defender Josh Alderson (Formby, ENGLAND) scored on a one-touch volley on a header from senior Gabriel Jones (Chiswick, ENGLAND).

Lincoln Memorial tied the contest just 22 seconds later courtesy of George Burne (Carlisle, ENGLAND) before the match moved into overtime and L-R was able to pull it out. Lenoir-Rhyne, who last beat Lincoln Memorial during the 1998 season, held an 18-13 advantage in shots in the victory as well.

In goal, Lenoir-Rhyne Stefan Dill (Southampton, BERMUDA) picked up the win after stopping five shots while Lincoln Memorial's Marcel Barwanietz (Berlin, GERMANY) took the defeat. Barwanietz made four saves on the night. Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Barton in a non-conference contest on Wednesday beginning at 5:00 p.m., while Lincoln Memorial plays at Brevard next Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
