HICKORY 47, PATTON 10: Sophomore quarterback Jaquan Crawford threw for 232 yards and a touchdown just three plays into the game as the Red Tornadoes blasted Patton 47-10 in their Northwestern 3A/4A conference opener. Crawford also for a game-high 94 yards; senior running back Jahiz Linebarger added 13 carries for

68 yards and two TDs.


HIBRITEN 48, SOUTH CALDWELL 26:
Hibriten had three players combine for 451 of its 502 rushing yards in a 48-26 win at home against South Caldwell. Running back TiShawn Daniels gained 167 yards on eight carries, quarterback Jacob Cooper added 166 yards on nine carries and running back Daquan Suddreth posted 118 yards on five carries for the Panthers (5-0, 1-0). The Panthers led 34-12 at the half.


FREEDOM 65, FRED T. FOARD 14:
The Patriots set a school record for points scored in a NW3A/4A Conference opener against Fred T. Foard (0-5, 0-1). The Patriots (4-1, 1-0) scored 55 unanswered points and finished with 460 yards of offense to the Tigers’ 339. Nigeul Moore’s 28-yard TD run and a 2-yard score by Chris Bridges started Freedom’s romp.
