Bears Finish Play At Tusculum Fall Classic PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Golf Teams concluded the final round of the Tusculum Fall Classic

on Tuesday at the Link Hills Country Club.




On the women's side, Lenoir-Rhyne finished with a 685 (+109) on the par-72, 5,805-yard course while UNC Pembroke won the tournament with a 607 (+31). Individually, King's Elizabeth Swallow was the top women's golfer after carding a 147 (+3) while freshman Evelyn Stein (Statesville, N.C.) led the Bears.



Stein finished with a 165 (+21) to tie for 36th overall while Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Elizabeth Ewing (Greensboro, N.C.) tied for 44th after shooting a 171 (+27).



For the men, L-R placed 11th overall with a 604 (+36) on the par-71, 6,763-yard course. Lincoln Memorial won after firing a tournament record 16-under 552. The Railspiltters' Tre Mullins took home individual men's honors with an eight-under 134, also a new tournament mark.



Senior John White (Dudley Shoals, N.C.) was Lenoir-Rhyne's No. 1 golfer in the tournament, finishing in a 19th-place tie with a 144 (+2). Freshman Blake Childers (Granite Falls, N.C.) tied for 22nd with a three-over 145 as well for the Bears.



The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Golf Teams next host the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate on October 7 and 8 in Sunset Beach, N.C., at the Sea Trail Golf Resort & Convention Center.
