Joe Stillin, a rookie with Reebok/ZAP Fitness Foundation of Blowing Rock, N.C., made his professional debut Sunday at the CVS Downtown 5k run in Providence, RI. Stilin finished in a time of 14:07 on the hilly New England course. CVS was Stilin's first U.S. Road Racing Championship event since turning professional and joining the Blowing Rock based Reebok/ZAP team in July.
"This is an excellent start to the year for Joe," said ZAP Head Coach Pete Rea. "We took a big break after his european schedule and now he is just beginning to ramp into harder training. I fully expect Joe to race well in Japan in October as well as back in the States in November & December."
Stillin was a second-team All America at Princeton. He earned his masters at the University of Texas last season before turning pro.
