L-R Victimized By Nova Southeastern In OT PDF Print

The No. 14 Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (2-2) fell for the second consecutive contest as the Bears lost to Nova Southeastern (3-1), 2-1, in double overtime Sunday afternoon in the Columbus State Collegiate Invitational at the Walden Soccer Complex.
The Sharks' Malin Broberg (Stockholm, SWEDEN) scored the match-winning goal with 3:10 left in the second overtime as Nova Southeastern won its second straight contest.
L-R scored first with just two minutes remaining before halftime. Sophomore forward Leah Mullins (Kissimmee, Fla.) scored between two defenders off an assist by freshman midfielder Cassandra Kerrigan (Venice, Fla.).
Dilja Olafsdottir (Reykjavik, ICELAND) tied the contest for the Sharks at the 66:27 mark of the second half and forced the contest into extra periods before Nova Southeastern ultimately prevailed.
Junior Tessa Lukens (Buford, Ga.) suffered the loss in goal for the Bears, who held a 19-8 advantage in shots taken but suffered consecutive setbacks for the first time in four years.
Nova Southeastern's goalkeeper, Sandra Rolon (San Juan, Puerto Rico), picked up the win after being credited with four saves on the afternoon.
Lenoir-Rhyne opens South Atlantic Conference play next Saturday when the Bears face Wingate on the road in Wingate, N.C., beginning at 4:00 p.m. Nova Southeastern hosts Lynn on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
