P.J. Hairston, who has been suspended indefinitely by the University of North

Carolina concerning his run-ins with the law this off season, had his court appearance in Durham County postponed until October.
Hairston, a forward on the UNC men's basketball team, was scheduled to appear in court in relation to a speeding charge.
Hairston was originally scheduled to appear Friday, but he did not show. His attorney had no comment concerning his client. His court date has been is now scheduled for October 11.
Hairson was suspended indefinitely at the end of July by Tar Heels coach Roy Williams after he was cited for speeding, reportedly doing 93 MPH in a 65 MPH zone, in Salisbury, N.C. The citation and the suspension came less than a week after Hairston had misdemeanor drug charges against him stemming from a June 5 traffic stop were dropped.
Hairston has had three run-ins with the police this offseason. The first two came in May and June, when he was driving rental cars tied to an ex-convict, Haydn "Fats" Thomas. At last check, in late August, The NCAA and UNC had not formally attempted to contact Thomas, according to his lawyer. Though the length of Hairston's suspension is still unclear, he is expected to play for the Heels eventually next season.
