The television broadcast of Appalachian State University football’s much-anticipated 2013 season opener at Montana will be carried nationwide on ESPN GamePlan, ESPN announced on Tuesday. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. ET at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Mont. ESPN GamePlan is ESPN’s college-football pay-per-view package and is available on most cable and satellite services across the nation, as well as many areas throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Check with your cable or satellite provider for availability and pricing in your area.
The broadcast will also be shown live on ESPN3, ESPN’s online platform. ESPN3 is available in approximately 75 million homes nationwide as well as to 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel. ESPN3 is also available through Xbox LIVE and on smartphones, tablets and Apple TV via the WatchESPN app. Check with your internet or mobile service provider to see if you receive ESPN3 programming.
The last time Appalachian State and Montana squared off at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in the 2009 NCAA Division I Football Championship semifinals, the contest drew a 1.9 nationwide rating on ESPN, making it the highest-rated telecast ever for an FCS postseason game on CBS, ESPN or ESPN2.
