T.C. Roberson senior Austin Stamey has made a verbal commitment to play

college soccer at Appalachian State University next fall.
Stamey was named the 2012 Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year after scoring 22 goals and dishing out six assists in 21 games for the MAC 4-A champion Rams (24-3-0).
Stamey, a forward/midfielder, was also a North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association 4-A all-state and all-region selection.
Stamey began the season playing for a Charlotte-based soccer academy last fall before he made his return to TCR.
He led the Rams to the Class 4A Western Regional championship game for the third time in four years. Stamey was one of just 12 North Carolina boys players selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association’s All-Region III team.
