Kadija Fornah has been named the new assistant men and women's volleyball coach at Lees-McRae College, announced head coach Dave Schmidlin Wednesday.
"I am excited that Kadija is joining our program," said Schmidlin. "Not only is she an accomplished collegiate and professional athlete, but she is also down to earth, very

approachable and has a great work ethic. With her experience as a Division I student-athlete, she will immediately have the respect of our  current players and her knowledge of this region will be very beneficial in recruiting. Most importantly, she will serve as a great role model for our student-athletes."
A native of West Palm Beach, Fla., Fornah comes to Lees-McRae after posting one of the best individual careers in Wake Forest University history, finishing her four-year tenure ranking third on the program's all-time kills list. Fornah went on to play professionally in Aprilia, Italy from August 2012 to May 2013, and most recently served as a coach for All American Volleyball.
"I'm excited to join the Lees-McRae team," said Fornah. "I look forward to being a part of the growth and success of both the men's and women's volleyball programs."
Fornah also has gained coaching experience with Set Point Volleyball Club, as well as several camps. As a student at Wake Forest, Fornah was invited to the NCAA Career in Sports Forum, where she learned skills such as crisis management, relationship building and communication.
