Dr. Kenneth Peacock, looking to end his ten year tenure as Chancellor at ASU next year is taking on a new job, just as the committee that will seek his replacement is getting underway with theirs. Dr. Peacock has been appointed chairman of the American Council on Education Board of Directors’ finance committee, a committee that reviews and recommends ACE’s annual operating budget, oversees and approves maintenance of reserves and debt structure, and oversees management of the council’s financial assets, including investments, property and equipment. Peacock  also is a member of ACE’s Commission on Internationalization and Global Engagement. His three-year term on the board concludes March 2015. ACE is the nation’s largest higher education organization, and is at the forefront of major issues affecting postsecondary education. Its president is Molly Corbett Broad, who was president of the University of North Carolina from 1997-2005. The American Council on Education it is the only higher education organization that represents presidents and chancellors of all types of U.S. accredited, degree-granting institutions: community colleges and four-year institutions, private and public universities, and nonprofit and for-profit colleges.
