St. Stephens High has named two new head coaches for varsity girls’ basketball and varsity baseball.
The school made the announcement on Monday. Betsy Reynolds, who was the junior varsity girls’ coach the last two seasons at St. Stephens, has been named the new varsity coach. She replaces Todd Davis, who was named assistant athletic director on July 8.
Davis led the Indians for 12 season (165-146 record) when he stepped down. Reynolds has 20 years of coaching experience, eight of them as a head coach.
Reynolds guided the Indians’ JVs to a 24-18 record over the past two seasons despite having only a seven-player roster her first season and a 10-player roster last season. Her first high school coaching experience was at Wilson Hall for five years.
After a 10-year break from coaching, Reynolds worked six years at Hammond School in Columbia, S.C. She was then varsity girls’ head coach for one season at White Knoll High near Lexington, S.C., and also coached at Sacred Heart Catholic in Hattiesburg, Miss., for six years. Reynolds has also been an athletic director during her career.
Windham is a 2003 graduate of Fred T. Foard and a 2007 Appalachian State graduate. His coaching experience includes stints at Northview Middle School, Foard as an assistant varsity coach and then at Maiden Middle School. He’ll teach business at St. Stephens.
