|Gallo and Alfaro Named All-Star Futures|

Major League Baseball has announced the rosters for the 2013 All-Star Futures game, with Hickory Crawdads 3B Joey Gallo and C Jorge Alfaro both among the 50 Minor League prospects chosen.
Gallo and Alfaro make up the only two representatives from the Texas Rangers organization, and join Dilson Herrera (West Virginia) and Miguel Almonte (Lexington) as the only players chosen from the South Atlantic League.
Gallo, 19, has been among the home run leaders in all of MiLB this year. The 2012 first round pick currently ranks second in the SAL with 23 homers while also batting .243 with 45 RBIs. Gallo is also among the SAL leaders in extra base hits (2nd, 41), total bases (3rd, 155), and slugging percentage (5th, .570).
Alfaro, 20, has been a complete package behind the plate for the 'Dads this season, with a .261 average, 10 homers and 34 RBI. Alfaro also ranks third in the SAL in throwing out 21 of 54 (38.9%) of stolen-base attempts.
Gallo will be on the U.S. roster while Alfaro will play for the World team. The pair were two of the six Crawdads named to the 2013 SAL All-Star team and are both ranked among the top 10 prospects in the Rangers organization according to MLB.com
The 15th annual All-Star Futures game will take place on July 14th at 2:00 pm ET from Citi Field in New York, NY.
