Appalachian State University women's track and field saw its season come to an end at the NCAA East Preliminaries at Irwin Belk Track at North Carolina A&T on Friday. Breanna Alston and Cassie Crawford competed in the 200-meter dash and pole vault, respectively, to wrap up the Mountaineers' season after Amanda Hamilton

competed in the 10,000-meter run on Thursday.
Alston captured 28th overall, seventh in her heat, with a time of 24.00 seconds in the 200-meter dash while Crawford finished in a 19th-place tie in the pole vault with a leap of 3.70 meters (12-1.5). Hamilton capped off her impressive career with a 41st-place showing in the 10,000-meter run the previous day.
Despite the solid showings, none of Appalachian's competitors will advance to the NCAA Championships as only the top 12 athletes in each event from the region will move on.
