Three players have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Lees-McRae College and play men's soccer in the fall of 2013, announced head coach Lee

Squires Wednesday. Alex Hasler (Browns Summit, N.C.), Marvyn Rieger (Frankfurt, Germany), and Taylor Morton (Laurinburg, N.C.) join an already deep and talented recruiting class that includes several standouts from throughout the Southeast region.
Alex Hasler – Midfielder – 6-0 – Browns Summit, N.C.
"Lees-McRae was an easy choice for me because I felt comfortable there from the moment I stepped on campus," expressed Hasler. "I feel it will be a great school where I can improve both my academic and athletic ability. The mountainous environment and the small town community also made my decision clear. I am looking forward to the upcoming soccer season led by Coach Squires."
Hasler joins the Bobcats from Northern Guilford High School in Greensboro, N.C., where he garnered all-conference and all-region recognition, as well as team MVP honors. The Browns Summit, N.C. native played club soccer for 94 NC Soccer Fusion Elite, and is a member of the National Honors Society. Hasler is the son of Anton and Donna Hasler, and has one brother, Nicolas.
"Alex is another product of our summer residential camps which have proven hugely successful in this year's recruiting class," praised Squires. "Alex will add speed to our attacking options, as well good technique and versatility.  Alex is always positive and will bring character to the locker room."
Marvyn Rieger – Defender – 6-2 – Frankfurt, Germany
"I chose LMC because Coach Squires told me about the special atmosphere within the team and around the whole campus," said Rieger. "I want to become a part of that and help the team live up to the great success the Bobcats achieved in the last years."
Rieger comes to Lees-McRae from Wöhlerschule Gymnasium in Frankfurt, Germany. The 6-2, 170-pound center back also played club soccer for FSV Frankfurt, helping his team to the league championship in 2011 – a feat which earned the club promotion to the youth Bundesliga, the highest level of youth soccer in Germany. Rieger is the son of Matthias Karcher-Rieger and Martina Rieger, and has one sister, Melissa.
"Living and studying in another country has always been my dream," added Rieger. "I'm very thankful to LMC and Coach Squires for giving me that opportunity. I will always give my all for the team and cannot wait for August to come!"
"Marvyn comes highly recommended and is a great addition to our defense," said Squires. "He has played at the highest youth level in Germany and that experience will serve him and the team well.  He has good height and speed and will complement the players around him.  His English is fantastic and I expect him to settle in quickly and be a big player for us."
Taylor Morton – Defender/Midfielder – 5-9 – Laurinburg, N.C.
"The players on the team seem like a good group of guys," expressed Morton. "The coach has good knowledge of the game, and I wanted to be a part of a team that has the potential to win a championship."
Morton dons the Green and Gold after a successful prep career at Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines, N.C., where he was a two-time all-region and all-conference honoree. The 5-9, 145-pound winger is a member of the National Honor Society, and played club soccer for 94 NC Soccer Fusion Elite alongside fellow signee, Hasler. Morton is the son of Celeste and Doug Morton, and has one brother, Cameron.
"A teammate of fellow recruit [Alex] Hasler, Taylor is a versatile player that will add quality to the squad," said Squires. "He is a smart player who understands his role, and once he adjusts to the speed of the College game, I have no doubt he will compete for playing time."
Hasler, Rieger, and Morton join a recruiting class that already includes Chris Mullins, Brett Martin, Yago Xavier, Patterson Towles, Avery Varley, Daniel Harris, and Isauro Estrada.
