Huskies Earn All-Conference Honors PDF Print

Ashe County High had two athletes named to the Mountain Valley 1A/2A All-

Conference Team. Tucker Goodman was named all-conference in boy's golf; Cameron Guyton was named all-conference in baseball.
Zach Lawerence adn Abel Warner were named honorable mention in boy's golf; Carson Knight and Alex Laws were named honorable mention in baseball.
Goodman and Lawrence qualified for the Class 2A regional in Lexington, N.C. Goodman paced Ashe County with an 82 at the MVC championships. Lawrence fired and 85. The Huskies finished fifth as a team.
Guyton was Ashe County's best pitcher. He was 4-5, and led the Huskies with 78 strikeouts in 63.1 innings with a team-best 3.09 earned-run-average.
Knight was Ashe County's best hitter with a .304 batting average and he was second on the team with a .450 on-base percentage. The senior led the Huskies with 15 runs-batted-in and he was tied for the team lead with 14 hits.
Laws batted .286 with a .407 OBP, and he tied for the team lead with 14 hits. Laws also scored a team-leading 14 runs and was second on the team with eight stolen bases.
