Blowing Rock Police have charged two people this past weekend for felony larceny in an incident at Shoppes on the Parkway.  Kristie Dawn McCrain, 40, and 48-year old Rodney Maurice Lutz, both of Hickory were charged with felony larceny, the arrests occurring Saturday after officers were notified that two suspects had left the Coach Store at Tanger Outlets with merchandise that they had not paid for. A description of the suspects and a description of the vehicle they were driving was broadcast to law enforcement in the surrounding area, leading to a North Carolina State Trooper spotting the vehicle a short time later in Granite Falls. Trooper Milligan stopped the suspects in Granite Falls and notified Blowing Rock Police, and officer Dan White responded to the scene where a search of the vehicle revealed several thousand dollars in stolen merchandise from several stores in both Blowing Rock and Boone. White seized the vehicle and merchandise and took the two suspects into custody. McCrain and Lutz were both held in the Watauga County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond. Blowing Rock PD says the incident are still under investigation and more charges are expected.
