The St. Stephens High girl's soccer team just keeping marching along. The Indians (19-3-2) posted their third straight win in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Class 3A state playoffs (all
by shutout) as they knocked off Gastonia-Ashbrook 6-0 Wednesday night in Gastonia, N.C. The Green Wave (18-2-2) was the No.1 seed from the Big South Conference.
Macy Franklin led the assault as she scored four times. The Indians have outscored three opponents (Forestview, Patton and Ashbrook) 19-0 in their last three games. STS, the regular-season champion and the No.1 seed among the Class 3A schools in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference, will play at Lawndale-Burns, the No.1 seed from the Southern Mountain 2A/3A Athletic Conference Saturday night in the Class 3A Western Semifinals. Burns advanced by defeating Enka 3-2 Wednesday night.
Franklin scored four times in the first half to pace the Indians. She now has ten goals in three playoff games.
