Polsgrove Wins State Title, Places In Four Events PDF Print

Kylie Polsgrove put on a memorable performance last Friday at the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Class 1A state track meet. The Avery High sophomore won a state championship and placed in four events, leading the Vikings to a seventh-place finish. Monroe won the team title with 103 points.
Polsgrove won the state championship in the girl's 300-meter hurdles in 46.17 seconds. Polsgrove nosed out Madison Sigmon of South Davidson by 5/10's of a second to win the title. Sigmon crossed the finish line in 46.22.
Polsgrove posted a second-place finish in the girl's 100-meter high hurdles by finising that race in 16.05. Reneazia Collins of Monroe won the state title in the blisterting time of 15.52. PolsgroveĀ  turned in a third-place finish in the girl's high jump with an effort of four-feet, ten-inches; Makayla Roten of West Wilkes won the state title with an effort of 5-6. And Polsgrove capped off her day with a seventh-place finish in the girl's 400 (1:00.62).
Polsgrove scored 26 points on the day.
