Watuaga High won another Wells Fargo Conference Cup on Saturday. The Pioneers, who held a narrow lead on Hickory going into the spring sports season, hung on to win the cup by seven points. WHS, which posted first place finishes in boy's and girl's track, and a second-place finish in boy's tennis, bested the field with 193 points. The Pioneers have won the cup every year since the NW3A/4A Conference was formed in the fall of 2009. And WHS has lost the cup once dating back to 1996.

Hickory, which finished second with 186 points, seven points off the lead, posted first-place finishes in boy's golf and boy's tennis. Alexander Central finished third with 166 points. The Cougars posted conference championships in baseball and softball.
