The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams put together several strong performances at the Duke Twilight Sunday at Wallace Wade Stadium. L-R redshirt freshman Kevin Baxter (Columbia, S.C.) finished third in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a school-record time of 14.26.
Baxter has already qualified as a provisional to the national championship in the event. In the men's 100-meter dash, Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Jarrod Spears (Bunnlevel, N.C.) placed sixth overall with a time of 10.95 seconds.
Lenoir-Rhyne also received a pair of 12th-place finishes from freshman C.J. Cody (Powder Springs, Ga.) in the men's 400-meter hurdles (58.31) and senior Elizabeth Chaffee (Winston-Salem, N.C.) in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:28.07).
The 2013 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships take place on May 23-25 in Pueblo, Colo.
