Man Shot, Another Charged in Shooting PDF Print

A Lenoir area man was shot after a confrontation Wednesday night. The call came in at 9:11 pm, Lenoir Police responded to the shooting report at 108 Ellison Place.  Uniformed Officers arrive and locate the victim Derek Shea Enloe, Sr., suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper left shoulder. Caldwell County EMS transported Enloe, 46, of Blue Creek Road, to Caldwell Memorial Hospital where he was treated and later released. The victim and witnesses identify 49-year old Joseph Matthew Golds, Jr. as the shooter.  Golds, of Pisgah Church Road, fled the scene in a vehicle. Police say there was a fight at the same Ellison Place location just prior to the shooting inside of a motor vehicle. Shortly after, Lenoir Officers, Detectives with assistance from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office located Golds at a residence located on Pisgah Church Road, and before being charged, Golds was transported by Caldwell County EMS to Caldwell Memorial Hospital for a hand injury he suffered earlier in the confrontation. He was treated and released from the hospital, then charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property. Joseph Matthew Golds was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $150,000 secure bond on the charges.
