Just after 3:15 this morning, Watauga Medics, Deep Gap Fire, Watauga Rescue all were sent to US 421 just east of the Blue Ridge Parkway Bridge for a call of a two-vehicle crash, said initially to involved five persons injured. First units on the scene found only one hurt--a leg injury--and other units, including ones called in from Wilkes, were turned around.  The north bound lane was blocked for a time while the state patrol investigated.
