Pioneers Finish Second At Orchard Hills PDF Print

The Watauga High boy's golf team turned in a second-place finish on Thursday in a Northwestern 3A/4A Conference meet at the Orchard Hills Golf Course in Granite Falls, N.C.

The Pioneers registered a team score of 318 and finished three shots behind the leader, Hickory, which paced the field with a 315. St. Stephens finished a close third with a 319, four shots back; South Caldwell, the host school, finished fourth with a 321, six shots back.
Spencer Ramseur of the Red Tornadoes paced the field as he was the leading medalist with a four-over par 76 on the par 72 course. Austin Graham of the Pioneers finished just one shot back with a five-over par 77; Troy McNeil was three shots off the lead with a seven-over 79. Carson Nguyen had an 81.
The Pioneers travel to the Brushy Mountain Golf Course om Taylorsville on Monday. Alexander Central will be the host school.
