|Catawba Elimiates Bears In Semifinal Round|

The Catawba Men's Lacrosse Team (8-6) advanced to the Deep South Conference Tournament Championship after escaping with a 12-11 overtime win against Lenoir-Rhyne (8-8) Thursday in the
semifinals at Moretz Stadium.
The Indians' John Scheich (Waxhaw, N.C.) scored the match-winning goal with 38 seconds left in overtime for the victory.
L-R junior Imari Davis (San Diego, Calif.) extended the contest after scoring his second goal of the match with 14 seconds remaining in the fourth period. Lenoir-Rhyne jumped out to a 4-0 advantage just over seven minutes into the contest.
Catawba, however, rallied to tie the match and took the lead twice in the fourth period - 10-9 and 11-10 - on goals by Adam Hebert (Charlotte, N.C.).
L-R sophomore Connor Squires (Lawrenceville, Ga.) also scored twice while junior Sam Ashton (New Market, Md.) added two goals and three assists in the losing effort for the Bears. Lenoir-Rhyne lost despite holding a 58-47 advantage in shots taken and a 37-22 edge in ground balls as well.
Scheich scored twice in the match and has tied the school record with 45 goals on the season while Hebert also finished with two goals for Catawba in the win.
In goal, Catawba's Christian Klimczyk (Linthicum, Md.) tallied 11 saves in the victory while L-R junior Steven McGhee (Durham, N.C.) suffered the loss. McGhee notched 13 saves in the match.
Catawba will play in the 2013 Deep South Conference Tournament Championship match on Sunday in Winter Park, Fla., on the campus of Rollins College.
