|Lenoir-Rhyne Women Blast Erskine, 21-8|

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team (6-5) won its third consecutive match, 21-8, over Erskine (5-11) Wednesday evening at Huggins Field.L-R sophomores Lauren Donovan (Hollywood, Md.) and Sarah Gioconda (Apex, N.C.) each scores four goals to lead the Bears to the win. Anna Dailey (Clinton, S.C.) led the Flying Fleet with three goals but Erskine lost its third straight match.
Senior Sarah Minick (Marietta, Ga.) added three goals and a team-high five assists for the Bears, who scored eight straight times after falling behind by a 3-2 score midway through the first period. The Bears held a 13-4 advantage entering intermission and was in control throughout rest of the match.
L-R, who also held the edge in both shots taken (34-20) and ground balls (29-28), received three goals and an assist from junior Hayley Beattie (Lebanon, N.J.) as well. In goal, Lenoir-Rhyne junior Ashley Gruning (Jackson, N.J.) was credited with the victory while Erskine's Konstandena Brown (Wilmington, N.C.) took the loss. Brown finished with eight saves on the night while Gruning stopped a pair of shots.
