The Watauga High girl's lacrosse team handed head coach Holly Quick her first career win, and that victory is one Quick will cherish for many years to come. The Pioneers (1-3) defeated West Forsyth
11-5 at Leigh Cooper Wallace Memorial Field.
WHS dedicated the field in Wallace's memory during pre-game ceremonies. Wallace coached the girl's lacrosse team for three years and led them to a district title in 2009. Wallace passed away in December of 2012. The Pioneers took care of the rest. Taelor Critcher paced a furious attack with five goals. Courtney Kapral chipped in with three goals; Abby Kincaid scored twice and Ava Moody had three assists.
The Pioneers travel to Matthews-Butler on Saturday.
