Pioneers Advance; Wilkes Central, East Wilkes Fall PDF Print

The Watauga High School Pioneers topped Pembroke-Swett, 25-14, and will host Winston-Salem Mount Tabor next Friday in the semi-final round of the 4A Conference Playoffs.

Mt. Tabor crushed Gastonia Ashbrook, 41-20, to earn the right to square off against Watauga.

 

In the Class 2A Conference, Wilkes Central, rated first,  bowed to fifth-rated Lincolnton 29-26; and 13th-rated East Wilkes  was blanked by top-rated North Duiplin, 20-0.

 

In Class 4AA action, East Burke fell to Charlotte Independence 42-28.
