|Robinson's Two-Run Blast Powers Bears|

The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (17-24) pulled out a 9-8 win over Brevard (12-28) Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference game at Gil Coan Field.
The Bears rallied from an 8-5 deficit with four runs in the top of the seventh inning capped off by senior outfielder Rai Robinson's (Kings Mountain, N.C.) game-winning, two-run home run for the victory.
Sophomore Ivan Vieitez (Miami, Fla.) led off the frame with a solo home run and pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his second save of the year. Lenoir-Rhyne took control early with a five-run first inning highlighted by a two-run double from junior outfielder Brandon Walker (Otisville, N.Y.).
From there, Brevard reeled off eight straight runs which included a two-run double from Cody Queen (Chesapeake, Va.) in the fifth inning. Queen drove in three runs to lead Brevard offensively in the loss.
For Lenoir-Rhyne, senior outfielder Logan Senelis-Jose (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands) added three hits and two runs batted in and junior Austen Gunnels (Hitchcock, Texas) (1-4) notched his first victory of the year in relief. David Martin was 0-1 in a pinch-hitting role; Matt Proffitt did not play for Brevard.
Thomas Brown (Black Mountain, N.C.) (0-1) suffered the loss while Bennett Hixson (Greensboro, N.C.) totaled three hits and two RBI for the Tornados, who lost their seventh straight game.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday when the Bears face Tusculum at home beginning at 6:00 p.m. Brevard plays league-foe Anderson on the road Friday at 6:00 p.m., as well.
