Western Carolina graduate student Josey Weaver and Appalachian State senior Jared Stalling have been named the Southern Conference’s Men’s Outdoor

Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets over last weekend. The selections are made by the league’s track and field coaches.
Stalling continued his assault on the Appalachian State University men's track and field record books with another standout performance at the High Point VertKlasse Meeting track and field meet. He finished first in the shot put competition with a throw of 54' 3 1/4" (16.54m) and set a new personal record and took second in the discus with a toss of 173' 0" (52.73m). This throw was over 1.5' further than his previous best and just 6" shy of the ASU school record.  Stalling sits atop the SoCon in both events.
