Watauga High baseball coach Pete Hardee has announced that Saturday's scheduled game between the Pioneers and Providence has been postponed. The game was originally scheduled to be played in

Boone, but because of possible inclement weather and poor field conditions, the teams decided to play the game in Charlotte.
But with a 40% chance of rain in the forecast for the Charlotte area, the game was called off late Thursday night. No make up date has been announced. WHS still has make up dates pending with Ardrey Kell (ppd on March 2) and North Davidson (ppd on March 6). The Pioneers (2-6 overall; 1-3 Northwestern 3A/4A Conference and in a three-way tie for fifth place with Hibriten and Hickory) travel to Lenior, N.C., to play a conference game against Hibriten tonight. Ryder Jones (1-1) is the scheduled starter for WHS. Coverage begins at 6 p.m. on Classic Hits 100.7 FM.
