The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (11-20) defeated Saint Augustine's (21-9), 5-2, Wednesday afternoon at Bears Field in a non-conference affair.

L-R senior first baseman Colton Hansley (Asheville, N.C.) hit his team-leading seventh home run of the year while sophomore outfielder Ivan Vieitez (Miami, Fla.) totaled four hits in the game to lead the Bears to the win. Trailing 2-1 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bears took the lead for good with a three-run frame.
Vieitez tied the score with an RBI single before Hansley connected on the game-winning, two-run home run. David Martin, who has been battling a wrist injury, was 1-3. Junior Aaron Bentley (Lenoir, N.C.) (1-1) of the Bears was credited with the win while Vieitez pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his first save of the season. Saint Augustine's Daveed Todd (Chicago, Ill.) and Calvin Butcher (New Castle, Del.) each drove in a run while Clarence Peace (Creedmoor, N.C.) added three hits for the Falcons despite the loss.
In addition, Saint Augustine's John Hailey (Rockingham, N.C.) fell to 5-3 on the year after suffering the setback. Hailey scattered 12 hits while allowing four runs in seven innings of work.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday against Newberry at home beginning at 6 p.m. Saint Augustine's faces Claflin in a doubleheader on Tuesday at 2 p.m., in Cary, N.C.
