Cleveland Paces Bobcats At WFU Open PDF Print

Rachelle Cleveland (Moyock, N.C.) placed 16th in the javelin throw to pace the Lees-McRae College women's track and field team at the Wake Forest University Open on Saturday afternoon.

Cleveland turned in a strong performance in the javelin throw, placing 16th with a mark of 33.82 meters, as Kayla Frazier (Chesterfield, S.C.) finished 34th with a toss of 21.88 meters. Sarah Monday (Lexington, N.C.) posted the top mark for the Bobcats in the pole vault, placing 12th in the "B" section with a jump of 2.50 meters.
Frazier placed 37th in the discus throw with a mark of 31.80 meters, as Jessica McEnaney (Cary, N.C.) and Auburn Lowe (Swain County, N.C.) posted times of 27.89 and 29.06 seconds, respectively, in the 200-meter dash.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Friday, March 22 when the Bobcats travel to High Point, N.C. to participate in High Point University's Vert Klassie Meet.

 

 

Bobcats finish strong at Wake Forest

 

 

 

Brandon Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) and Travis Burton (Newberry, S.C.) posted several strong performances to pace the Lees-McRae College men's track and field team at the Wake Forest University Open on Saturday afternoon.
Williams teamed with Jarrett Gibson (Marietta, Ga.), Razhede Highsmith (Gastonia, N.C.), and Joshua Soto (Aiken, S.C.) to finish 11th in the 4x100-meter relay, posting a time of 43.41 seconds, as the quartet placed 25th in the 4x400-meter relay with a mark of 3:31.82.
Burton placed 14th in the "B" section of the high jump, finishing with a mark of 1.74 meters, as Williams posted a time of 22.68 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Soto put together a strong performance in the 200 as well, crossing the line in 23.01 seconds, as Highsmith and Burton posted times of 23.09 and 23.40 seconds, respectively, in the event.
Gibson crossed the line with a mark of 23.50 seconds in the 200-meter dash, while Davante Scott (Hopkins, S.C.) finished with a time of 23.83 seconds. Gabriel Tobias (Lenoir, N.C.) posted a time of 2:06.25 in the 800-meter run.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Friday, March 22 when the Bobcats travel to High Point, N.C. to participate in High Point University's Vert Klassie Meet.
