The Mars Hill College men's lacrosse team outscored visiting Lees-McRae College by a 14-0 margin in the first half en route to a 19-0 win in non-conference play on Saturday afternoon. Mars Hill (1-0) outshot Lees-McRae (0-2) by a 54-10 margin
in the contest, including a 22-6 advantage in the second half, while converting 21-of-22 clear attempts and scoping up 45 ground balls. The Bobcats converted 15-of-18 clearing attempts on the day, winning eight face-offs and recording 23 ground balls.
Ryan Harrison (Lake Mary, Fla.) posted another strong performance between the pipes for Lees-McRae, tallying 14 saves in a complete game effort. Dalton Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) paced the Bobcats with four shots, including three on frame, as Dillon Quinn (Greensboro, N.C.) and Harrison recorded four and three ground balls, respectively.
Kile Garrett led the way for Mars Hill with a five-point performance, posting two goals and a game-high three assists, as Will Scott tallied a contest-best three goals. Dan Applebaum, Jamie Raezer, Ryan Sage, Garrett Hargis, and Anthony Malcolm each scored a pair of goals for the Lions.
Lees-McRae returns to action on Saturday, February 16 when the Bobcats travel to Wingate, N.C. to take on Wingate University in non-conference action at 2 p.m.
