Appalachian State University men's basketball senior Nathan Healy put together one of the best performances in all of NCAA Division I this season when he posted a game-high 24 points to go along

with a team-best eight rebounds and a career-high seven steals in Saturday's 74-65 win over Western Carolina. According to ESPN Stats & Research, Healy is the only player in all of NCAA Division I basketball this season to post those numbers. In addition, his performance ranks as one of the best all-around games in Appalachian history.
Among players with seven or more steals in a game, only D.J. Thompson finished with more points (32) and steals (9), but grabbed just five rebounds in an 80-66 win over UNCG on Feb. 22, 2007.
Healy's steal total from Saturday's victory are tied for the third-most in school history while the 24 points tie a career-high. Currently, the New Bern, N.C. native ranks ninth in the Southern Conference in scoring (14.6 ppg), fourth in rebounding (7.5 rpg), seventh in field-goal percentage (50.0), second in steals (2.1 spg), fifth in three-point field-goal percentage (41.8) and third in blocks (1.5 bpg).
A former walk-on for the Mountaineers, Healy has posted four double-doubles this season and was recently named as a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic all-District selection, making him eligible to become an Academic All-American.
Healy and the Mountaineers will square off against Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. on Thursday before traveling to SoCon leader Davidson on Saturday.
