Dillingham Named SAC Player Of Week PDF Print

Lenoir-Rhyne's Denzel Dillingham has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today. Dillingham wins the award for the second time this year. Dillingham, a sophomore guard

from Hickory, N.C., averaged 24.5 points and 7.5 rebounds last week in leading Lenoir-Rhyne to a pair of home league wins over Anderson (75-58) and Newberry (91-79) on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
Dillingham led all scorers with 30 points to go along with nine rebounds and six three-pointers in the win over the first-place Trojans before tallying a team-high 19 points in the victory against the Wolves. Dillingham also hit 10-of-11 free throw attempts and averaged 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals for the week as well. Dillingham currently leads Lenoir-Rhyne (14-4, 7-3) in scoring (17.9 ppg), free throw percentage (.851) and three-pointers made (47) this year.
L-R, winners of four straight games, remains at home to take on first-place Wingate (12-6, 8-2) Wednesday night in a South Atlantic Conference showdown at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium beginning at 8:00 p.m.
The Bears are currently tied for fourth place in the conference with the Eagles of Carson-Newman but are just one game out of first place in the league standings. Anderson, Lincoln Memorial and Wingate are all 8-2 in SAC play.
