ASU Track Completes Kentucky Invitation​al PDF Print

Appalachian State University men's track and field completed the Kentucky Invitational this afternoon, garnering six top-ten finishes including senior Alex Taylor running a personal-best in the 800 meter run, which ranks him second all-time for

Appalachian.  Taylor posted a fifth place finish in the 800 meter run, as he ran a personal-best 1:50.81, which ranks him second all-time for the Mountaineers. App State would see a top-10 finish from senior Chris Moen when he crossed the line at 4:12.98 in the mile run, earning a tenth place finish overall, while Michael Lilley paced Appalachian in the 3,000 meter run, finishing with a personal-best 8:28.89 for a 13th place finish.
Junior Josh Cox led the way for the Mountaineers in the 5,000 meter run as he took home a sixth place finish, running a personal-best 15:11.84 and sophomore Kyle McFoy followed closely behind, posting a personal-best 15:16.44 and a seventh place finish.
Jared Stalling led Appalachian in field events, posting a fourth place overall finish in the weight throw with a 18.80 meter throw and a ninth place overall finish in the shot put with a 16.10 meter toss.
The Appalachian State University women's track team earned five top-ten finishes in the Kentucky Invitational this weekend at Nutter Field House. Senior Amanda Hamilton paced the Black and Gold for distance runners as she placed sixth overall in the 3,000 meter run, crossing the line at 9:48.20, while Maria Stickley finished second overall in section three of the 3,000 meter run with a personal-best 10:35.88.
App State earned an eighth place finish in the 5,000 meter run as junior Kayla Schneider ran a personal-best 18:21.97.
Junior Cassie Crawford led the way for Appalachian in field events as she garnered a fifth place finish with a 3.65m jump in the pole vault and Chelsea Farr placed ninth overall in the pole vault with a 3.65m jump.
App State will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 1 when they travel to Winston-Salem to compete in the JDL Invitational. The meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
