A Zionville man was killed in a motorcycle crash late Sunday afternoon near his home.  The state patrol said that 51-year old Christopher Higgins and a friend were riding their motorcycles back from Boone when just after 5, Higgins passed his friend on Old US 421. The SHP said that Higgins lost control of his cycle, ran off of the two lane road to the right, struck an embankment, and was thrown from the cycle.  Witnesses arriving at Higgins found him not breathing and started CPR while calling 9-1-1.  Zionville first responders continued the CPR until Watauga Medics arrived, but Higgins was pronounced dead on arrival at Watauga Medical Center.  No charges have come from the accident.
