Lenoir-Rhyne Swimming Opens Spring Season With Limestone Meet PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's and Women's Swimming Teams returned to competition Saturday afternoon in a meet at Limestone College at the Timken Aquatic Center In the men's dual meet, Limestone defeated Lenoir-Rhyne by a score

on 203-57. In the women's tri-meet, L-R fell to both Limestone (106-15) and UNC Asheville (75-46). Limestone prevailed over UNC Asheville, 81-41, to round out the scores on the women's side.
On the men's side, L-R sophomore Shane Courtney (Hendersonville, N.C.) finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.47) while freshman Nicholas Gibson (Hickory, N.C.) was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:22.34).
Freshman Leah Watts (Hickory, N.C.) earned a runner-up finish in the women's 100-yard butterfly (1:04.32).
Meanwhile, Lenoir-Rhyne placed second in the women's 400-yard freestyle relay event with a time of 4:00.42.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swimming Teams will host Queens in a dual meet next Saturday afternoon at the Shuford P.E. Center beginning at 2:00 p.m.
