With the holiday season hitting, gas prices for those of us in the High Country continue at a level 25 cents higher per gallon than areas in adjoining counties.  Yesterday, regular unleaded in Wilkesboro was at $3.18.9, with prices as low as $3.17.9 in the Piedmont.  Here, the lowest price is $3.43.9 —and our gas gap continues to keep us paying well more than the rest of the state.  Caldwell prices were as low as $3.22.9 in the US 321 corridor.  State-wide, the lowest price is $3.12.9 along the US 74 corridor east of Charlotte.  Predictions are for gas prices to continue go to lower through the holiday period, that depending on issues in the middle east that seem to be heating up.
