Dillingham Named SAC Men's Basketball Player Of Week PDF Print

Lenoir-Rhyne University's Denzel Dillingham has been named the first South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week for the 2012-13 season, league officials announced today. Dillingham, a sophomore guard from Hickory, N.C.,

averaged 18.5 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds in leading the Bears to a 2-0 start to the year. Lenoir-Rhyne defeated both Limestone (94-73) and Queens (53-50) in the 2012 South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Tip-Off Classic last Friday and Saturday, respectively, in Wingate, N.C.
Against the Saints, Dillingham led all scorers with 28 points on nine-of-16 shooting while adding five rebounds and three assists in the win. Dillingham followed that performance up with nine points and three assists in the victory over the Royals.
Dillingham also shot 10-for-11 (91 percent) from the free throw line and hit five three-pointers for the week as well.
Lenoir-Rhyne (2-0) next competes in the Pickle Classic this weekend in Mount Olive, N.C. L-R will face both Fayetteville State (Friday at 5:00 p.m.) and West Virginia State (Saturday at 5:00 p.m.) in the tournament.
