Hendersonville wide receiver D.J. Wilson will reportedly visit Appalachian State University for a visit on Friday. Wilson, a senior, is also being recruited by

North Carolina, Wake Forest, Clemson and Elon, among others.  He is also the first player from Henderson County selected to play in the Shrine Bowl in five years. Wilson, a 5-foot-11, 175 pound senior, caught 29 catches for 798 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns in 11 regular-season games.
Wilson is a very physical receiver that can make the difficult catch and he runs well, according to the college scouts. He's considered a hard worker and a pure wide receiver. Academically, Wilson is an A-B student. Ironically, Wilson has flow under the radar.
Hendersonville's (11-1) takes on Lake Norman Charter in a second-round Class 1AA state playoff game Friday night. The Bearcats defeated North Wilkes 61-13 last Friday night.
