Traffic? What Traffic? Changes Suggested for Saturday PDF Print

How busy can we be on a High Country weekend? So busy that officials with the Valle Country Fair would like to suggest those planning to come use routing in one direction—but note that his not a plan not approved or put into place by the NC DOT. Fair officials suggest traffic flow travel into Foscoe and turn onto Clarks Creek Road to the fair, then depart NC 194 to Broadstone Road. But DOT officials say that Clarks Creek Road will not be set as one way, as there is not enough time to explore such a plan at this point.  With traffic nightmares the norm along NC105 and 194, Broadstone Road, and Clarks Creek with traffic heading both to Banner Elk and to the Valle Country Fair just out of Valle Crucis, the suggestion is to route as much traffic as possible through the Foscoe route, but it is purely voluntary.  With perfect fall leaf-looking weather on tap, tens of thousands at the Woolly Worm Festival and the Valle Country Fair—and a home ASU football game with rival Wofford, plan on traffic—lots of traffic—just about any time you take to the roads this weekend—especially Saturday.
