L-R Softball Sweep North Carolina, UNC-Pembroke To Finish Fall Season PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team finished its 2012 fall season with victories over North Carolina (9-1) and UNC Pembroke (10-0) on Sunday in the Ray Chandler Memorial Tournament at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex.

Lenoir-Rhyne 9, North Carolina 1
L-R freshman pitcher Brandi Hole (Sandy Ridge, N.C.) threw a one-hitter while freshman infielder Chelsey Long (Nakina, N.C.) led the Bears at the plate with four hits.
Lenoir-Rhyne 10, UNC Pembroke 0
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman pitcher Maryann Hoskins (Havelock, N.C.) allowed just two hits while striking out seven batters to lift the Bears to the victory over the Braves. Hoskins combined with senior pitcher Megan Laxton (Taylorsville, N.C.) on the shutout. Junior shortstop Jody Mizelle (Colerain, N.C.) finished with three hits including two home runs to pace the Bears offensively.
