The Erskine College women's volleyball team recorded 11 service aces and held Lees-McRae College to a .186 hitting percentage en route to a 3-1 win in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon. Erskine (12-8, 10-2 CC) won
the match by scores of 25-23, 25-16, 15-25, and 25-14, posting a .232 hitting percentage and seven blocks. Lees-McRae (9-10, 6-5 CC) recorded 68 digs and 46 kills on the afternoon, while adding eight blocks.
Rachel Grether (Ocala, Fla.) paced the Bobcats with a double-double, tallying team-highs with 14 digs and 11 kills, as senior Megan Mitchell (Minden, Nev.) added a double-double with 27 assists and 13 digs.
Taylor Clendenin (Statesville, N.C.) posted nine kills, as Jordan Banta (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Lauren Fox (Garland, Texas) each chipped in seven smashes. Sariah Suryadevara (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Molly Corhn (Hendersonville, N.C.) recorded 12 and 11 digs, respectively, as Haydn Beatty (Norman, Okla.) added four block assists.
Lauren Stewart and Caitlin Bullock led the Erskine attack with 14 and 13 kills, respectively, each posting a hitting percentage over .300 as Larz Chabra chipped in match-highs of 41 assists and three aces. Brooke Dodge added a match-high 14 digs, while Alicia Bragg and Liz Massey both posted four blocks. Kelly Sullivan notched eight kills while also recording three aces and three block assists.
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Wednesday when the Bobcats host Limestone College in league play at 7 p.m. in Williams Gymnasium.
