LMC Women Place Third At Conference Preview Meet PDF Print

Sophomore Emily Shields (Salisbury, N.C.) finished fifth overall to lead the Lees-McRae College women's cross country team to a third-place performance at the Conference Carolinas Preview Meet hosted by Belmont Abbey College on

Friday afternoon. King College claimed the team title with 27 points, followed by Barton College (55), Lees-McRae (73), Queens University of Charlotte (78) and Coker College (104). Emily Shields turned in the top time of the day for the Bobcats, placing fifth with a mark of 15:57.41 as her twin sister Katherine Shields (Salisbury, N.C.) finished eighth with a time of 16:23.66.
Cinthia Lehner (Greer, S.C.) placed 15th with a time of 17:13.86, as Rayne Delutis (Christiansburg, Va.) and Sarah Monday (Lexington, N.C.) placed 28th and 32nd, respectively, with times of 20:45.70 and 22:32.74.
Lees-McRae returns to the trails on Friday, October 12 when the Bobcats travel to nearby Boone, N.C. to participate in Appalachian State University's Blue Ridge Open.

 

 

 

Bobcats finish fourth At Conference Preview Meet

 

 

 

The Lees-McRae College men's cross country team placed five runners in the top 20 en route to a strong fourth-place performance at the Conference Carolinas Preview Meet on Friday afternoon.
King College claimed the team title with 17 points, followed by Barton College (62), Coker College (69) and Lees-McRae (87). Jared Lupton (Nampa, Idaho) paced the Bobcats in 13th-place with a time of 17:32.59, followed by Gabriel Tobias (Caldwell, N.C.) in 15th with a mark of 18:49.00. Matthew MacPhail (Spartanburg, S.C.) finished 17th with a time of 19:01.96, as Dustin Rudisill (Dallas, N.C.) and Zac Cummings (Duncan, S.C.) placed 19th and 20th, respectively, with marks of 19:48.93 and 22:42.48.
